Websites
Most small sites do not need a database. We build them as static files that load quickly and are cheap to host.
What we build
- Publications and guides with dozens or hundreds of articles.
- Business sites with service pages, contact forms and a blog.
- Rebuilds of slow or abandoned sites, keeping existing URLs where possible.
How we build
Pages are generated from content files with a small build script, then served as plain HTML and CSS. JavaScript is added for specific jobs, such as a menu on small screens or a search box. That keeps pages light, which matters for readers on mobile data.
Every page gets a title, a description, a canonical URL and a place in the sitemap. We test with keyboard-only navigation and a screen reader, and check colour contrast against WCAG 2.2 AA.
Moving an old site
When we rebuild a site that has existing links pointing to it, we list the old URLs first, from the server logs, the old sitemap or an archive, and either recreate them or redirect each one to the closest new page. Broken inbound links are lost value.
Hosting and handover
Static sites run on almost any host, including shared cPanel hosting, object storage or a CDN. We hand over the source, the build script and a short guide to adding pages.
